A SECOND CHANCE

Soft as the words
echo in
my ears,
numbing-chills
and
laughable tears.
Your eyes
dance
this wonderful
dance
as though
you
have given me this
second chance.
Life, love, and
happiness
had faded with the
time-slowly evaporating
without warning
or
rhyme.
Our love we thought
was stronger
than life,
but somehow
it was taken
and
drifted away with the time.
As we sat
and watched
our worlds torn apart,
we knew we
had to
begin the mending of
our broken hearts.
To give a little
and to love a little
was all the we
needed.
A break from the reality
of nothing
completed.
Our love
has grown stronger
though the test of time
only to realize
I love you very much and
you will always be
mine.
